Introducing Fitato Captain: Atharva Deshmukh
Atharva is our engineer-cum-sports-buff who is always up to date with the latest sports news and fitness events. He’s either busy sharing memes on #lifeofanengineer or posts about #fitnessgoals. You can always rely on him to let you know which fitness activity would be well-suited for you.
1) As a child, what did you want to become when you grow up?
Well, I won’t lie but I always wanted to be an actor. I was that kid who you would find using movie dialogues as replies. I would watch as many movies I could and try to remember as I many dialogues from them as possible. Though, as I grew, the movie-buff inside me changed into a sports buff.
2) What do you do when you’re not at the gym?
As much as I want to stay at the gym or on a sports field all day long, I am also a student. I am still completing my engineering which means when I am not lifting weights, I am lifting heavy course books and trying to get through one semester after another. I don’t let my love for fitness take over and affect my academics.
3) Which fitness activity are you most inclined to? What inclined you to it?
I like all fitness activities although I’m more inclined towards MMA. I think I’m inclined towards MMA because I was an action junkie as a kid and even at that time, combat arts always attracted me. MMA offers fitness along with combat training and self-defence. So, I prefer it over other workouts.
4) Do you follow a strict diet? What is your diet like?
I don’t usually follow a strict diet. I just have the usual home cooked food and try to keep my protein levels up. Just now, for a change, I have started following a keto diet, as an experiment. Trying to figure out if fad diets work.
5) What do you think about the concept behind Fitato ?
I love the concept. It makes fitness more interesting and more versatile. The freedom that I can choose which kind of workout I do every day is amazing. It gives me a sense of authority which I totally love. More than that, I love hanging out and meeting new people and enjoying fitness in large groups- a perk of the Fitato community. Fitato exclusive events are my personal favourites.
6) How do you use your Fitato pass ?
I use my Fitato pass to visit various fitness facilities and try out new fitness activities. And ofcourse, it gets me access to all the amazing Fitato exclusive events like pool parties and trek.
